We are Harmonia House.

A residential care home for young people.

We believe in…

Bringing harmony to the home of our children. At Harmonia House we lead with the heart, offering a secure, caring and warm environment, with a family feel and a focus on support. We treat our young people with dignity and respect and attend to their needs, as individuals. With a committed team of professionals our young residents can thrive, giving them the space to learn and grow. Our goal is to help build brighter futures.

Our mission

The primary aim is to create an environment of constant warmth, predictability, and responsiveness to need, with the opportunity for children to experience new relationships through positive adult/child and peer group interactions. We endeavour to enrich their lives with opportunities, experiences and activities that will develop valuable life skills.

Our home provides a safe, stable and consistent living environment for children aged 6 - 17 years, with emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We provide our children with the opportunity to develop to their full potential and achieve positive outcomes. We believe that a residential home can and should be a positive experience for young people, where they gain positive life experiences.

Therapeutic care

At Harmonia House, we offer exceptional therapeutic residential care for vulnerable children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs who have experienced trauma. Our care is provided in a single, family-sized home within the local community. Our tailored therapeutic approach addresses the unique emotional needs of our young people.

Our young people benefit from intensive specialist support provided by our experienced and trained therapeutic team, alongside a supportive peer group. Our therapeutic team includes professionals trained in art, drama, and movement psychotherapy, as well as educational and clinical psychologists. Forming healthy attachments can be challenging for many of our children, we are dedicated to offering the therapeutic support and environment needed to work on these attachments. This gradual process helps children learn what healthy relationships look like, with an aim of enabling many to eventually transition to a more typical family setting with parents, relatives, or foster families, and to integrate into mainstream schools with appropriate support.

“Our mission goes beyond providing a bed to sleep in. We are dedicated to creating a thriving community.”
